GM, Crypto Briefers!
Bitcoin continues to hover around the $90K mark, showing little conviction as repeated attempts to break past the $93.5K yearly open get smacked down. Equities are near all-time highs, but crypto is still stuck in neutral, with traders bracing for choppy, low-volatility conditions to end the year. One standout has been Zcash, which is up 50% in December as privacy coins regain momentum.
While price action remains muted, legal consequences caught up with Do Kwon, who was sentenced to 15 years in U.S. prison for his role in the $40B Terra collapse. The Terraform Labs founder pleaded guilty to wire fraud and conspiracy to defraud, avoiding a potential 135-year sentence. He’s expected to serve at least half his term before a possible transfer to South Korea, where additional charges may follow.
