MetaMask, a prominent Ethereum wallet provider, is rumored to have registered a domain specifically for token claims.
A new website appearing under the address “claim.metamask.io” has sparked speculation that the established crypto wallet may be preparing for token distribution. The page presently displays an “Authentication Required” message with a visitor’s password prompt.
MetaMask said earlier this month that it plans to introduce a $30 million rewards program featuring LINEA tokens from Consensys’ Ethereum layer 2 network, Linea. The initiative, termed MetaMask Rewards, will offer various incentives, including referral rewards, mUSD stablecoin incentives, partner rewards, and token access ahead of its token launch.
Designed as a long-term community benefit, the program aims to reward users’ existing on-chain behaviors and encourage inactive users’ reengagement.
Consensys CEO Joe Lubin emphasized the program’s role in further integrating MetaMask into users’ financial activities and the forthcoming MetaMask token that promises additional benefits for longstanding users.
