Moonray set to launch token generation event on Bybit

Bybit has announced the launch of MNRY, the utility token powering Animoca Brands’ backed project Moonray. The news comes shortly after the project announced upcoming expansions to its ecosystem, with a no-crypto launch on PlayStation 5 later next year. The company previously closed a $10M oversubscribed funding round led by Animoca Brands, Republic Crypto, Polygon Ventures, C2 Ventures, Huobi Ventures, Cardano Ventures, Master Ventures, and more.
To celebrate the Moonray listing, Bybit is kicking off an exciting token splash campaign with a prize pool exceeding 5,000,000 MNRY Tokens. Users can participate by buying, staking, and trading MNRY to earn rewards.
Hosted on the Ethereum network, MNRY is the governance and utility token that powers the Moonray ecosystem, as the company states its use for gaming, merchandise and content, governance, and more. According to the official litepaper, the token can be used for platform payments including in-game transactions and rewards for its game, and as governance for the community. MNRY means discounts on merchandise and gain exclusive access to Moonray and its IP products, experiences, and events.
The project also recently announced expansion of its IP into a mobile game early next year as well as consoles, with an upcoming launch on PlayStation 5 later in the year. No release date has been announced yet for the launch on consoles, though the team said the dates for early access and official launch on PlayStation will be revealed in upcoming announcements in the next few months.
The company initially began its PC beta testing in March 2022, and has since expanded into a competitive multiplayer combat arena game and an ecosystem. The alpha version of the original PC game launched on the Epic Games Store in July of this year, offering campaigns with rewards for players.
Beyond Web3 gaming, Moonray has branched out into comics with two graphic novels by Eisner Award-winning comic book artist Brandon Graham available in North America, the EU, and the UK, The company is also partnering with the globally renowned animation studio ReelFx to create an upcoming animated web series.
Moonray also recently saw over 220,000 NFT mints of its limited edition in-game character on the NFT marketplace OpenSea, which the platform stated was the largest NFT gaming free mint that it has seen.
