360 Security Technology unveils AI tools to rival Anthropic’s Mythos

China's cybersecurity giant launches two AI systems aimed squarely at matching the vulnerability-hunting capabilities of Anthropic's Claude Mythos model

The AI arms race just got a cybersecurity subplot. 360 Security Technology, one of China’s largest cybersecurity firms, has launched two new AI systems designed to compete directly with Anthropic’s Claude Mythos model, which has been turning heads since its preview release in April 2026.

The systems, named Tulongfeng and Yitianzhen, were unveiled on June 24. Tulongfeng focuses on automated software vulnerability discovery, while Yitianzhen handles cyber defense and incident response.

What Tulongfeng actually does

Tulongfeng uses AI to identify weaknesses in software at machine speed. The numbers so far are notable. Tulongfeng has already identified over 3,400 vulnerabilities in software systems, according to 360 Security. That puts it in roughly the same ballpark as Anthropic’s Mythos, which identified thousands of vulnerabilities across various software applications following its April preview release.

360 Security previously showcased its Multi-Agent Collaborative Vulnerability Discovery System during the Tianfu Cup hacking contest, China’s answer to the well-known Pwn2Own competition. That earlier system laid the groundwork for what Tulongfeng has become.

The second system: Yitianzhen

While Tulongfeng hunts for vulnerabilities, Yitianzhen is designed to respond to them. The system automates cyber defense and incident response, essentially acting as an AI-powered security operations center.

The US-China dimension

This launch lands against a backdrop of escalating US-China tensions in both AI development and cybersecurity, with mutual accusations of cyber intrusions between the two nations. Anthropic released Claude Mythos Preview in April. Within two months, 360 Security had a competing offering ready for public consumption.

360 Security sits alongside firms like Qi An Xin and Sangfor as one of China’s most prominent cybersecurity companies. Its decision to frame Tulongfeng explicitly as a Mythos rival suggests the company views this as a market-positioning opportunity, not just a technical milestone.

What this means for investors

360 Security’s shares saw favorable movement following the release of the Mythos model, reflecting a broader bullish sentiment on AI-driven security solutions.

The key metric to watch is whether these AI vulnerability discovery systems can sustain their output over time. Finding 3,400 vulnerabilities in an initial sweep is impressive, but the real test is whether Tulongfeng and Mythos can continue to surface meaningful, previously unknown flaws as the low-hanging fruit gets patched.
