The healthtech startup has grown revenue fivefold since its seed round nine months ago, now managing workflows for over 150,000 physicians.

Prosper AI has raised $30 million in a Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz as the startup expands its artificial intelligence platform across healthcare administration.

Base10 participated in the round, while existing investors Emergence Capital, Y Combinator and Company Ventures also returned.

The financing follows a $5 million seed round announced in September, bringing Prosper AI’s total disclosed funding to $35 million.

Prosper said its revenue has grown fivefold since the previous raise. The company has also added more than 40 healthcare organizations and expanded across more than 150,000 healthcare providers.

The platform now powers more than $1.3 billion in patient care, according to the company.

Prosper AI initially focused on voice agents for scheduling but has expanded into insurance benefit verification, patient billing and communications with insurers.

The platform can answer patient calls, schedule appointments directly inside electronic health record systems, verify coverage and calculate patient financial responsibility before care is delivered.

Its AI agents can also contact insurers by phone when additional information is required and record the results inside the provider’s existing systems.

Prosper says the platform can lower healthcare administrative costs by more than 40% by managing patient and insurer workflows from the initial appointment request through reimbursement.

The company currently works with healthcare organizations including Preferred Dermatology, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Athenahealth and ImagineSoftware.

Prosper said it wins around 80% of the competitive evaluations it enters, though the figure was provided by the company.

The startup was founded in 2023 by Xavier de Gracia and Josep Mingot and initially operated across a broader range of industries before narrowing its focus to healthcare in 2024.

Prosper will use the new capital to expand its engineering and customer facing teams, deepen integrations with major electronic health record platforms and increase adoption among provider groups and health systems.

The company currently operates three main AI agents focused on scheduling, insurance verification and billing, with additional administrative workflows under development.
