BitMEX Becomes AC Milan’s First Sleeve Partner
One of the leading crypto derivatives exchanges, BitMEX, and world-renowned soccer club AC Milan landed a multi-year partnership deal, BitMEX announced Tuesday.
The exchange will become AC Milan’s Principal Partner and first-ever sleeve sponsor for both the men’s and women’s soccer teams and the club’s eSports team, AQM. Starting Aug. 23, the exchange’s logo will feature on the sleeve of all official playing outfits for the three teams. Commenting on the partnership, BitMEX CEO Alexander Höptner said:
“Our partnership with AC Milan is the start of a hugely exciting new chapter for BitMEX as we look to ramp up brand awareness and increase understanding of crypto. AC Milan is one of the world’s most progressive football clubs, and combined with its rich footballing heritage boasts extraordinary reach and engagement with fans globally. We felt we’d come home when we started talking to the club, and we can’t wait to start interacting with the global Rossoneri family”.
The partnership will be centered around both parties’ focus and passion for perpetual innovation, progress, and inclusion. Furthermore, according to the parties, the collaboration will extend beyond mere advertisement. The exchange will award the Rossoneri access to exclusive offers, while customers and business partners will benefit from AC Milan’s iconic brand through unique experiences.
The BitMEX link-up is not AC Milan’s first venture into crypto: earlier this year, the Italian squad launched its own fan token through Socios. It’s also one of many leading soccer clubs to feature on the NFT-based fantasy soccer game Sorare.
