Industry-leading decentralized oracle network Chainlink has unveiled Transporter, a hyper-secure app built on the Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). Developed in collaboration with the Chainlink Foundation and Chainlink Labs, Transporter provides an easy-to-use interface for cross-chain transactions on CCIP, starting with support for multiple blockchains, including Arbitrum and Ethereum.
“Transporter makes it easier to utilize the security benefits of Chainlink CCIP for the transfer of large token value and critical messages across chains. Having a secure way to move both value and data across chains is something the blockchain industry has needed for years and I’m excited that Transporter is making that more accessible,” Sergey Nazarov, Co-Founder of Chainlink, stated.
According to Chainlink, the app is engineered to ensure peace of mind, featuring 24/7 support and a visual tracker for transaction monitoring. It operates without additional fees, only charging for CCIP usage, which includes gas costs on the destination chain and payments to CCIP service providers. Early adopters include venture capital firms Fourth Revolution Capital and Moonrock Capital.
“I expect that Transporter will quickly establish itself as the standard for cross-chain enablement for high-value use cases,” commented Nomatic, Investor at Fourth Revolution Capital.
Simon Dedic, CEO of Moonrock Capital, also expressed enthusiasm for the launch. He anticipates a significant impact on secure cross-chain connectivity and blockchain adoption.
“We’re excited to witness the launch of Transporter, which we expect to play a significant role in bringing secure cross-chain connectivity to a large user base across the blockchain ecosystem,” said Dedic.
In addition to Transporter’s launch, Chainlink has rolled out a new token transfer mechanism within CCIP, allowing for native ETH transfers through WETH token pools, marking a first for the protocol’s lock and unlock capabilities.
