LayerZero excludes staff from airdrop, collaborates with Nansen, Chaos Labs to enhance Sybil detection

LayerZero has partnered with analytics firm Nansen and security company Chaos Labs to enhance Sybil detection mechanisms ahead of its token generation event (TGE). Bryan Pellegrino, co-founder and CEO of LayerZero, also claims that the project’s staff are excluded from the upcoming airdrop.

According to LayerZero’s recent announcement on X, the partnership with Nansen and Chaos Labs aims to analyze user transactions across LayerZero applications and prioritize developers and committed users. The Sybil detection report will be released following the self-report deadline.

Pellegrino’s statement that LayerZero’s staff would be excluded from the upcoming airdrop came in response to a post by Liubomyr, an X user who had questioned the potential allocation of tokens to the LayerZero team. He also emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards internal token acquisition.

Pellegrino noted that owning NFTs, such as Pudgy Penguins or others, does not entitle employees to tokens, reinforcing the company’s commitment to fairness.

Earlier this week, LayerZero initiated a self-reporting requirement for Sybil behavior, giving users until May 17 to comply and participate in the bounty hunter program. This move aims to establish equitable airdrop practices amidst recent controversies in the space.
