Paris Saint-Germain makes informal approach for Eduardo Camavinga, gets turned down

PSG came knocking for Eduardo Camavinga. He didn’t answer the door.
The Parisian club made an informal approach for Real Madrid’s French midfielder, but Camavinga rejected the move and wants to stay at the Bernabéu.
What we know about PSG’s approach
The approach was first reported by José Félix DÃaz of AS around June 18. Sources close to Camavinga’s camp have since confirmed the contact took place, but stressed that the player has zero interest in leaving the Spanish capital.
Earlier reports throughout 2026 painted a confusing picture. Some outlets suggested PSG was actively monitoring the situation. Others floated the possibility of an €80 million bid. French media, meanwhile, claimed as recently as April 2026 that there had been “zero contact” between the club and the player.
No formal negotiations have taken place. No offer has been tabled.
Why Camavinga is staying put
Camavinga joined Real Madrid in 2021 from Rennes for approximately €31 million. Since arriving in Madrid, he’s become a key part of the squad’s engine room, with his ability to play multiple midfield roles.
Injury concerns have surfaced at various points during Camavinga’s time in Madrid, which may have contributed to PSG’s belief that the player could be pried loose.
What this means for both clubs
The €80 million figure that was floated earlier in 2026, even if it was never formalized, suggests PSG was willing to pay a significant premium. But when a player doesn’t want to come, the price tag becomes irrelevant.
