Sekai raises $20M Series A to enhance AI app creation platform

Sekai, an AI-native platform for creating and remixing mini apps via text prompts, has raised a $20 million Series A led by Khosla Ventures and Connect Ventures, founder and CEO Lucky Zhang told Axios.

The mobile app allows users to describe ideas in natural language, instantly generating interactive apps that can be shared, remixed, and played with by others.

The company says users have created more than 15 million mini apps, with over 200,000 generated daily and average engagement exceeding one hour per day. Early traction was driven by highly shareable experiences such as interactive cards and personalized quizzes.

Sekai plans to use the funding to scale its product and enhance creator tools as it positions mini apps as a new format for digital expression.
