SpendLayer begins multichain rollout of BlockDebit payment infrastructure

London, United Kingdom, July 16th, 2026, Chainwire

SpendLayer, a non-custodial crypto wallet and payment infrastructure platform, today announced that it has begun rolling out multichain support for its BlockDebit infrastructure. Avalanche support is already in place, and the platform is now rolling out across three further networks: Ethereum, Polygon and Base.

The expansion follows the platform’s official launch on 28 May 2026 and extends SpendLayer’s BlockDebit infrastructure — which enables direct debit-style functionality for blockchain payments — beyond Avalanche to the three additional networks. Recurring subscription payments, merchant-initiated billing and automated payment authorization are being introduced on each network, with users retaining control of their funds and private keys throughout.

SpendLayer Multichain is rolling out to users in phases and is not yet available to all users.

Already supported:

  • Avalanche

Now rolling out:

  • Ethereum
  • Polygon
  •  Base

SpendLayer’s infrastructure remains wallet-agnostic and compatible with third-party non-custodial wallets. The company is a technology and payment infrastructure provider and is not a custodial financial intermediary: it does not hold, control or access user funds at any point, and private keys remain with the user throughout the payment lifecycle.

“A payments layer that only works on one network isn’t a payments layer,” said Manica Nucic, Group CEO of SpendLayer. “Merchants and users are spread across chains, and the infrastructure underneath them has to meet them where they already are. We are rolling this out in stages rather than all at once, because payment infrastructure has to be right before it is fast. Extending BlockDebit across Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche and Base is a step toward making digital assets usable in everyday economic activity, wherever that activity happens.”

The company continues to expand integrations with regulated fiat on-ramp and off-ramp providers, enabling users to buy and sell digital assets through licensed external partners from within the wallet environment. Those services are carried out by the external partners rather than by SpendLayer.

About SpendLayer

SpendLayer is a non-custodial crypto wallet and payment infrastructure platform. Its core product, BlockDebit (blockdebit.com), applies the direct debit model to blockchain payments. A user grants a standing authorisation that fixes the payment amount, how often it may be taken, how long the arrangement lasts, and a ceiling that cannot be exceeded. A merchant may then collect within those boundaries without the user approving each transaction. The authorisation is recorded and enforced on the blockchain, remains visible to the user at all times, and can be withdrawn by the user without notice. The platform handles subscription billing, merchant-initiated collection, retail and wallet-based transactions, and interoperability across wallets, and works with non-custodial wallets built by other providers. SpendLayer is a technology and payment infrastructure provider and is not a custodial financial intermediary: it does not hold, control or access user funds at any point, and private keys remain with the user throughout the payment lifecycle. Exchange, ramp and staking functions are carried out by external providers rather than by SpendLayer.
