Vedat Muriqi joins Fenerbahçe from Mallorca for €15M

The 32-year-old Kosovan striker returns to Istanbul after a prolific season in La Liga, marking new president Aziz Yıldırım's first major move.

Vedat Muriqi is heading back to Fenerbahçe. The Kosovan international will leave RCD Mallorca in a deal worth between €15 million and €15.5 million, returning to a club where he spent a single season before bouncing around European football for the better part of six years.

The transfer, corroborated by journalist Fabrizio Romano, comes with personal terms already agreed through 2029.

A homecoming fueled by goals and politics

Muriqi scored 23 league goals for Mallorca in the 2025/26 season. The second factor is the Fenerbahçe presidential election. Aziz Yıldırım won the club’s presidency in early June 2026, and Muriqi’s signing represents his first major piece of business. Yıldırım had openly identified Muriqi as a key target during his campaign.

Mallorca initially wanted between €18 million and €20 million for their star striker. The final price landing closer to €15 million suggests Fenerbahçe’s negotiating team played the patience game effectively, with Mallorca’s leverage weakening as the window progressed.

Muriqi’s winding road back to Istanbul

Muriqi first joined Fenerbahçe in July 2019 on a four-year contract, scoring 17 goals in 32 Süper Lig appearances during the 2019/20 season before moving to Lazio in 2020. He subsequently joined Mallorca on loan in early 2022, with that loan converted into a permanent transfer worth approximately €7.7 million in July 2022 under a five-year deal.

What this means for Fenerbahçe and the Süper Lig

The contract through 2029 takes Muriqi to age 35. This transfer also comes against the backdrop of Mallorca’s recent relegation from La Liga, which weakened their negotiating position.
