T1 faces Hanwha Life Esports for LCK’s top seed at MSI qualifier
The best-of-five series on June 12 will determine which Korean powerhouse earns the number one seed at MSI 2026
Two of Korean League of Legends’ most dominant rosters will collide on June 12 in a best-of-five that carries the kind of weight usually reserved for grand finals. T1 and Hanwha Life Esports meet at the Wonju DB Promy Arena for the LCK Road to MSI qualifier, with the winner punching their ticket as Korea’s top seed at MSI 2026.
The series kicks off at 10:00 CET (08:00 UTC), and for fans of competitive League of Legends, this is appointment viewing. A previous LCK match between these organizations pulled in more than 1.2 million peak concurrent viewers.
What’s actually at stake
The LCK Road to MSI bracket featured six teams: HLE, T1, Gen.G, KT Rolster, Dplus KIA, and BRION. Only T1 and HLE survived long enough to reach the final qualifier match.
HLE earned their position the old-fashioned way, finishing the regular season in first place. T1 came in second. The winner secures the LCK’s number one seed, which typically comes with favorable group placements and scheduling advantages at the international tournament.
The rosters: legends vs. rising stars
T1’s lineup includes Faker in the mid lane, top laner Doran, jungler Oner, bot laner Peyz, and support Keria.
HLE’s roster features Zeus in the top lane, Kanavi in the jungle, Zeka in the mid lane, Gumayusi in the bot lane, and Delight at support. Zeus and Gumayusi both previously played for T1.
History favors T1, but barely
These two teams met in last year’s Road to MSI finals as well. T1 won that series, clinching their berth for MSI 2025 and denying HLE the top seed.
HLE finished first in the LCK regular season this split. T1 has historically been a different animal in best-of-five series, with a playoff record built on adaptability between games.
