Chime explores stablecoin wallets for consumer banking app

Chime Financial is exploring ways to add stablecoins to its consumer banking platform.
The San Francisco-based fintech asked blockchain companies to submit proposals for end-to-end stablecoin wallet services, according to people familiar with the plans and a document reviewed by Bloomberg.
Chime made the request in late spring. The move suggests the company is evaluating infrastructure that could support stablecoin use inside its app.
Stablecoins are increasingly moving beyond crypto trading and into payments and other mainstream financial services.
