Chainlink’s Sergey Nazarov joins Microsoft and Parallax Ventures for Sibos AI panel

The Chainlink co-founder took the stage to discuss AI agents, payments, and what happens when money starts making its own decisions

Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov shared a Sibos stage with leaders from Microsoft and Parallax Ventures. The panel covered the future of value and the role of AI agents in payments and digital assets, according to a post from Chainlink on X.

The session carried a title that sounds half keynote, half sci-fi pitch: “Future of Value: Part Two, When Money Becomes Intelligent.” It is a fitting name for a conference whose official theme is “Digital finance for AI-driven economies.”

A packed schedule in Miami

Sibos 2026 runs from September 28 to October 1 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The event features over 500 speakers across more than 250 sessions.

The AI panel with Microsoft and Parallax Ventures was slotted for September 30. It was one of three sessions on Nazarov’s calendar for the week.

He was scheduled to open with “Building Global Digital Asset Markets” on September 28. He was then set to close out on October 1 with a workshop on the “Trust Layer for Interoperable Global Finance.”

Nazarov was not the only Chainlink representative on the agenda. Ryan Lovell from Chainlink was also scheduled to speak on September 30, on AI’s role in keeping payment systems running under extreme stress.

What “intelligent money” actually means

The core idea behind the panel is programmable money paired with AI. Think of regular money as a dollar bill in a drawer. Programmable money is closer to a dollar bill that carries its own instructions about when and where it can move.

Add AI agents to the mix and those instructions can be executed by software acting on someone’s behalf. That is the scenario the panel set out to explore: payments and digital asset activity driven, at least in part, by automated agents rather than humans clicking buttons.

Chainlink’s growing Sibos footprint

This is not Chainlink’s first appearance at Sibos. In 2025, the company’s presence centered on corporate actions standardization work alongside institutions including DTCC and Swift.

A year later, the footprint looks noticeably bigger. Nazarov is spread across three sessions, and a second Chainlink speaker has a slot of his own.

The list of institutions participating in sessions alongside Nazarov also reads like a roll call of establishment finance. Beyond Microsoft and Parallax Ventures, it includes DTCC, Clearstream, and IFC, among others.

What this means

For the broader digital asset industry, the takeaway is less about any single panel and more about where the conversation is happening. Topics like tokenized assets and AI-driven payments are being discussed at a major finance conference, next to incumbents who move enormous volumes of money every day.

For Chainlink specifically, the research frames its expanding role as a potential path toward greater institutional adoption of blockchain technology. Conference appearances build visibility and relationships, but they are not the same as signed deals or live production systems.

The AI angle is also worth watching closely. If AI agents do start handling payments and digital asset activity at scale, questions about trust, data reliability, and interoperability between systems become central. Those are exactly the themes on Nazarov’s schedule, from global digital asset markets to the trust layer workshop.
