GTA 6 trailer’s fictional DacityCoin sends a real Solana meme token on a wild ride

A satirical in-game token tied to the fictional AudaCity brand sparked a 2,900% spike in an unrelated Solana meme coin carrying the same name

Rockstar Games built a fake crypto token to make fun of crypto culture. Crypto traders responded by pumping a real one.

The Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, released on October 15, 2026, includes a satirical ad featuring a fictional token called DacityCoin. Within an hour, an unrelated Solana meme token named Dacity Coin saw its market cap jump from $104,000 to a peak of $3.18 million. That works out to a 2,900% gain on a project with no connection to the game.

A parody ad, a real price chart

DacityCoin appears around the 0:55 mark of the trailer. It is part of an in-game ad carrying branding from AudaCity, a fictional company in the GTA universe.

The segment is connected to Lucia, one of the game’s lead characters. It ties her to a stunt-promoter side mission that earlier leaks had already hinted at.

The real-world Dacity Coin is a Solana meme token launched on October 11, 2026. That was four days before the trailer went live, which is either remarkable foresight or the result of paying close attention to leaks.

Leaks are the likelier explanation. Footage attributed to a source called “Cyberleek” surfaced in early October and reportedly showed DacityCoin branding inside the Lucia stunt-promoter mission. Anyone watching that footage had a head start on the trailer audience.

The rally did not last. After peaking, the token gave back about 53% of its value shortly afterward.

Rockstar isn’t in on the trade

Rockstar Games has not announced any partnership with, or endorsement of, any real-world token. The Solana Dacity Coin is not an official product, and nothing indicates the studio has any stake in it.

That has not slowed the copycats. Several unauthorized tokens borrowing the name have reportedly appeared since the trailer dropped. For buyers, that means choosing among multiple unofficial tokens, none of which has a link to the game.

What this means for traders

A token valued at $104,000 needs relatively little buying to multiply several times over. The same thin liquidity that powers the climb also speeds up the drop, as the roughly 53% pullback showed.

Because the token launched on October 11, its earliest holders were positioned before the wider public knew DacityCoin existed. Late arrivals who bought near the $3.18 million peak were, in effect, providing exit liquidity to whoever got in first.

With several projects sharing one name and none endorsed by Rockstar, buyers cannot easily tell which token the market will treat as the “real” one.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on November 19, 2026. Any further trailers, gameplay reveals or leaks showing DacityCoin could spark more volatility in tokens carrying the name.
