Ondo launches tokenized private markets with pre-IPO AI asset
Ondo said the tokens can also be freely transferred and composed with other onchain applications, including across the DeFi ecosystem.
Ondo Finance has unveiled Ondo Private Markets, a new platform for tokenized exposure to private companies, the company said in an Oct. 6 statement.
The rollout comes as access to private markets remains largely restricted to institutional players, despite growing demand from retail investors for tokenized real-world assets. Ondo’s new platform aims to expand market participation by offering tokenized exposure to these private assets onchain.
According to the team, Ondo Private Markets allows eligible investors to access private-company exposure through tokenized notes rather than direct equity ownership. Each note is linked to the per-share value of a reference company’s common shares, with the eventual payout determined under the note’s offering documentation.
Ondo said the tokens can also be freely transferred and composed with other onchain applications, including across the DeFi ecosystem.

The platform uses the same infrastructure behind Ondo’s tokenized equities and Treasury products, which Ondo says have more than $3.7 billion in TVL and over 1 million cumulative holders.
Ondo Private Markets will begin with a pre-IPO AI company whose tokenized notes are expected to start secondary-market trading this week. Ondo plans to add private companies across robotics, cybersecurity, biotech, infrastructure and other sectors.
