About Ankr Network

Ankr Network is a Web3 infrastructure provider that runs a decentralized, globally distributed network of nodes. It gives developers, decentralized applications, exchanges, and enterprises managed access to blockchain data through RPC endpoints, WebSockets, APIs, staking infrastructure, and appchain deployment services. Chandler Song, Ryan Fang, and Stanley Wu founded the project in 2017 as a distributed computing and Web3 infrastructure platform. The Ankr blockchain mainnet launched on July 10, 2019, initially operating in a more centralized fashion before transitioning to a globally distributed node network. Ankr is not a general-purpose smart-contract blockchain. Its core design is a decentralized node infrastructure that handles billions of RPC calls daily and load-balances traffic across multiple blockchains rather than relying on a single on-chain consensus mechanism for user applications. The native token, ANKR, is used for gas and fees, staking and staking rewards, and ecosystem incentives tied to node and infrastructure usage. ANKR has a hard-capped total supply of 10 billion tokens, with circulating supply reported at over 8 billion. The fixed cap governs distribution of contributor rewards, staking incentives, and payment for premium infrastructure services. Ankr functions as backend infrastructure for wallets, decentralized applications, exchanges, rollups, and enterprises that need reliable, high-speed access to on-chain data across many blockchains.
