Nirva raises $33 million for ambient AI pendant set to ship by year-end
The Silicon Valley startup's $249 titanium wearable promises mood tracking and journaling while keeping data processing local
Nirva Labs has raised $33 million for an AI device you wear around your neck. The company says its $249 pendant will start shipping before the end of 2026.
The round was announced on October 22, 2026, only a few months after an $8 million seed raise in July. For a company founded in 2025, that is a brisk pace.
What the pendant actually does
Think of it as a diary that writes itself. Nirva’s device listens through voice input and reads a set of onboard sensors. It then builds a running personal journal from that data.
That journal feeds into several features. These include emotional insights, mood tracking and analysis of the wearer’s relationships.
The hardware list is short but specific. The pendant has dual microphones, an inertial measurement unit (IMU) and ALS/UV sensors. The IMU is a motion sensor that tracks movement and orientation. ALS stands for ambient light sensing, and the UV sensor measures ultraviolet exposure.
The device carries an IP67 rating, a standard grade for dust and water resistance.

Nirva has kept the device small. It weighs approximately 7.5 to 10 grams and is made from hypoallergenic titanium. Owners can wear it as a pendant, a necklace or a bracelet.
Pricing is set at $249. Preorders are expected to open before shipping begins. The hard commitment is end-of-year delivery.
Privacy as the selling point
A device that records your voice and maps your moods could make plenty of people uneasy. Nirva’s answer is local processing: it says it handles as much as possible on the device rather than sending raw data to remote servers.
From CES debut to $33 million
Nirva first showed the device publicly at CES 2026, where it was picked as one of the top three startups.
The $8 million seed round closed in July 2026, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners alongside South Park Commons. The new $33 million round is more than four times that size, raised within roughly a quarter.
