Trust Wallet integrates MoonPay so US users can buy crypto without leaving the app
The MoonPay Headless rollout lets US users pay with cards or Apple Pay inside Trust Wallet and save payment methods for repeat purchases
Buying crypto inside a self-custody wallet just got a lot less like a scavenger hunt. Trust Wallet has integrated MoonPay Headless into its app, letting US users purchase crypto with cards or Apple Pay without ever leaving the Trust Wallet interface.
The feature went live on October 7, 2026.
What actually changed
The core shift is about where the purchase happens. Previously, buying crypto through a wallet often meant getting handed off to a third-party checkout page. Now the entire flow stays inside Trust Wallet.
MoonPay provides the payment and compliance plumbing in the background, while Trust Wallet controls what the user sees on screen.
US users can pay with debit or credit cards, or with Apple Pay. They can also save their preferred payment methods and link a MoonPay account, which makes repeat transactions faster.
A partnership that has been building since 2020
Trust Wallet and MoonPay started working together in 2020, when MoonPay was plugged in as an on-ramp, the industry term for a service that converts regular money into crypto.
The relationship got more formal on August 14, 2025. That is when the two companies signed a strategic agreement making MoonPay the primary provider behind Trust Wallet’s “Buy Crypto” function.

Trust Wallet’s Eowyn Chen pointed to the years of collaboration between the two firms as the foundation for a better transaction experience. MoonPay’s Ivan Soto-Wright framed the deal as a strategic alignment focused on usability and scalability.
MoonPay has been busy
In early September 2026, the company added Cash App Pay as a payment option through its platform.
Then on September 24, 2026, MoonPay Trade went live. The product supports cross-chain swaps across seven blockchains, meaning users can trade assets that live on different networks without manually bridging them.
MoonPay’s infrastructure also operates in more than 190 countries and supports a range of local payment methods.
Why scale makes this a bigger deal
Trust Wallet reportedly has around 200 million users worldwide. Even small improvements to the purchase flow can add up quickly at that size.
Self-custody wallets offer control over your own keys, but they have historically lagged centralized exchanges on convenience. The Headless integration addresses that gap by keeping the entire purchase flow inside the wallet without surrendering the self-custody model.
What this means
There are trade-offs worth watching. Concentrating the “Buy Crypto” function around a single primary provider simplifies the experience, but it also ties a large share of a wallet’s fiat activity to one partner’s pricing, uptime and regulatory standing.
The launch is also US-specific for now. How quickly the Headless experience expands to other markets, and whether newer MoonPay features such as cross-chain trading show up natively inside Trust Wallet, will signal how far this partnership is meant to go.
