Revolut has partnered with MetaMask to enable direct crypto purchases for millions of customers worldwide via Revolut Ramp, according to a blog announcement published today by Consensys, the team behind MetaMask. With this integration, UK and European Economic Area customers can use Revolut Ramp within the MetaMask mobile app, browser extension, or on the MetaMask Portfolio to buy crypto tokens swiftly and securely.

As noted by Consensys, Revolut Ramp enables users to quickly on-ramp by purchasing tokens directly into their MetaMask wallets using their fiat currency balance or a Visa or Mastercard bank card. Existing Revolut users don’t need to go through additional verification checks when using Revolut Ramp as they are already verified through their existing Revolut account. This significantly speeds up checkout, allowing them to purchase crypto within seconds.

Unlike existing Revolut users who bypass verification, non-Revolut users must complete a Know Your Customer (KYC) process. However, according to Consensys, this process is designed to be integrated and quick, taking only minutes to complete.

Mazen Eljundi, Revolut’s Global Business Head of Crypto, expressed excitement about the launch of Revolut Ramp, emphasizing the high success rates and low fees for transactions within the Revolut ecosystem.

“We are excited to announce our new crypto product Revolut Ramp, a leading on-ramp solution for the web3 ecosystem. Our on-ramp solution ensures high success rates for transactions done within the Revolut ecosystem and low fees for all customers. We are delighted to partner with a leader in the web3 space, MetaMask. We will offer customers the possibility to buy more than 20 tokens with their fiat currency smoothly, securely, and without friction,” noted Eljundi.

Lorenzo Santos, Senior Product Manager at Consensys, believes the partnership will make crypto more accessible and foster broader adoption.

“This partnership is really about giving our users what they want – more control over their crypto, in a straightforward way, using platforms they already know and trust. It also plays a crucial role in fostering broader crypto adoption, opening up the crypto world to more people,” said Santos.

With its latest move, Revolut Ramp joins a suite of over 40 unique payment methods available in 177 countries, making crypto purchases more accessible globally.
