Circleās EURC adds $4.8 million in a week as euro stablecoins keep inching up
Circle's euro-pegged token now sits near a $497 million market cap and holds roughly 60% of a still-tiny euro stablecoin market
Circle’s euro stablecoin, EURC, grew its market cap by $4.8 million over the past seven days. In a sector dominated by dollars, that counts as a respectable week.
The gain pushes EURC’s market cap to $497.12 million as of October 19, 2026, with 443.11 million tokens in circulation.
The numbers behind the week
EURC’s supply climbed 8.8% in the month leading up to October 15, 2026, reaching ā¬441 million.
The token crossed ā¬400 million in circulation back in August 2026.
EURC has grown more than 10x since its MiCA launch two years ago, according to the research findings.
Market share is where Circle really stands out. EURC commands roughly 60% of the euro stablecoin market, which is estimated at somewhere between $760 million and $810 million in total.

The entire euro stablecoin segment makes up less than 0.3% of global stablecoin supply.

Meanwhile, the USD stablecoin market exceeds $300 billion.
Circle launched EURC in 2022 as a euro counterpart to USDC. Every token is backed 1:1 by euros held in reserve.
The token is issued by Circle Internet Financial Europe SAS. It falls under the direct supervision of France’s AutoritĆ© de ContrĆ“le Prudentiel et de RĆ©solution, known as the ACPR.
EURC lives on multiple blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, and Base.
Why MiCA keeps showing up in the story
The research findings tie EURC’s expanding listings to regulatory clarity under MiCA. The token is available on centralized platforms such as Coinbase and Kraken.
It also shows up across decentralized finance, on protocols including Aave and Uniswap.
Beyond trading, Circle has positioned EURC for payments, foreign exchange, and treasury work. Partnerships with VisaNet and Thunes support those use cases.
The competition is not standing still
Circle is not alone in chasing the regulated euro stablecoin crown. SociĆ©tĆ© GĆ©nĆ©rale’s EURCV is one of the MiCA-compliant alternatives competing for the same users.
Still, EURC’s roughly 60% share suggests Circle’s head start has been hard to erode so far.
