About EURC
EURC is a euro-backed stablecoin issued by Circle, redeemable one-to-one for euros. Circle announced the project in June 2022 under the name Euro Coin with the ticker EUROC, later standardizing both the name and ticker to EURC. The token first launched on Ethereum on June 30, 2022, and has since expanded to Avalanche, Solana, Stellar, and Base. EURC is not a proof-of-work or proof-of-stake network. It is a fiat-backed token that operates across multiple chains, with its supply managed through minting and redemption against euro reserves held by Circle. EURC is a stable payment and settlement asset and is not used for staking or governance. Its primary use cases are digital euro payments, treasury management, and on-chain settlement and liquidity for businesses and individuals who want euro exposure on-chain. The supply is uncapped and elastic, with circulating supply determined by reserve-backed issuance and redemption. In early September 2026, circulating supply was roughly 397.7 million euros.
