About edgeX
edgeX is a decentralized perpetual futures and spot exchange protocol built for on-chain derivatives trading. The project was incubated by Amber Group, and its mainnet launched on an Ethereum-based architecture in August 2024. The native EDGE token had its generation event and began trading on 31 March 2026, deployed on the Base network. edgeX uses a high-speed orderbook architecture secured by a delegated validator system. The team is developing EDGE Chain as a base blockchain layer for the protocol. EDGE is the protocol's governance and utility token. It is used for voting on edgeX Improvement Proposals, staking through delegated validators to secure the protocol and earn rewards, and funding ecosystem incentives including developer grants and liquidity rewards. EDGE has a fixed hard-capped total supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. Approximately 350,000,000 tokens, around 35 percent, were in circulation following the TGE and airdrops. The remainder is subject to lock-ups and vesting schedules. edgeX is a governed, incentive-driven decentralized exchange ecosystem built around on-chain perpetual and spot trading.
