About MANTRA
MANTRA is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK and CometBFT. It is designed for tokenizing and managing the lifecycle of regulated real-world assets and compliant digital-asset applications. The project started as MANTRA DAO, with its OM token launching as an ERC-20 in August 2020, before it became a dedicated Layer 1 chain. MANTRA Chain mainnet launched on 10 October 2024. The network uses delegated proof-of-stake consensus and supports both EVM and CosmWasm smart contracts, making it a multi-VM, compliance-oriented blockchain. The native token is MANTRA, formerly known as OM, which was redenominated through a community-approved 1:4 split and ticker change on 2 March 2026. It is the staking token, gas and fee token, and governance asset of the network. MANTRA has a capped maximum supply of 10 billion tokens, though on-chain inflation mechanics mean it does not function as a simple fixed-supply asset. Circulating supply has been reported in the range of roughly 5.3 to 6.4 billion tokens. MANTRA Chain is built to host regulated financial applications such as tokenized private credit, real estate, and money-market products, with compliance constraints embedded at the protocol level.
