About Kinetiq
Kinetiq is a liquid staking protocol built on the Hyperliquid blockchain. Users stake HYPE, Hyperliquid's native token, and receive kHYPE, a liquid staking derivative they can then use in DeFi applications like lending, yield vaults, and perpetuals trading. The project was founded in late 2024. The core protocol went live on mainnet on July 15, 2025, connecting Hyperliquid L1 consensus security with the HyperEVM application layer. Kinetiq pools HYPE delegated to validators and mints kHYPE as an ERC-20 token. The protocol also runs an on-chain perpetuals exchange built on the same infrastructure. The KNTQ governance token genesis event happened on November 27, 2025 on Hyperliquid, described as the first major native token launch in that ecosystem. KNTQ is the protocol's governance token, used for protocol governance and value accrual. HYPE remains the underlying staking asset and kHYPE the liquid derivative. KNTQ has a capped maximum supply of one billion tokens, with circulating supply roughly between 270 and 280 million tokens as of 2026. Team and investor allocations follow an approximately three-year vesting schedule with a one-year cliff. The protocol lets Hyperliquid users earn staking yield on HYPE while keeping on-chain liquidity and access to derivatives exposure through kHYPE and related instruments.
