About Pepe

Pepe is a meme cryptocurrency on Ethereum, issued as an ERC-20 token and built around the Pepe the Frog internet character. It works mainly as a memecoin for trading, speculation, and community activity, without a built-in utility or governance role. Anonymous creators launched it in April 2023, and the developers have never been publicly identified. Because it is a token on Ethereum, Pepe has no consensus of its own and depends on Ethereum's proof of stake network. Its supply is fixed at about 420.69 trillion tokens, released at launch, with a deflationary design that includes manual burns.
