About Blur
Blur is an Ethereum-based NFT marketplace and lending platform built for professional NFT traders and governed by a DAO of BLUR token holders. Tieshun Roquerre, known as Pacman, co-founded the project in 2022 with a pseudonymous co-founder. The venture firm Paradigm and other crypto investors provided early backing. The Blur marketplace launched on Ethereum mainnet in October 2022, and the BLUR token went live through a large airdrop on 14 February 2023. Blur runs as a decentralized application on Ethereum, using Ethereum's proof-of-stake consensus. Its marketplace, lending, and governance functions are implemented as smart contracts. The native token, BLUR, is an ERC-20 governance token used for DAO voting and protocol governance, including decisions on marketplace incentives and treasury allocation. BLUR has a capped total supply of 3 billion tokens, all minted at genesis. Approximately 51 percent is allocated to the community through airdrops and incentives, with the remainder vesting over several years to contributors, investors, and advisors. The platform combines NFT trading and lending on Ethereum, offering aggregated listings, bidding tools, and lending features directed at high-volume traders.
