About Beldex
Beldex is a privacy-focused blockchain ecosystem built on CryptoNote technology derived from Monero. It supports confidential payments, private messaging, and privacy-preserving Web3 applications including BChat and BelNet. Afanddy B. Hushni founded the project in March 2018, with a co-founder known as Mr. Kim also involved in its development. The network launched in 2018 and reached mainnet in early 2019. Beldex originally used a proof-of-work consensus mechanism inherited from its Monero lineage, then transitioned to a masternode-based proof-of-stake system through the Bucephalus hard fork in December 2021. The native token, BDX, is used to pay transaction fees, make confidential payments within the ecosystem, and stake on masternodes. Total supply is reported at approximately 9.9 billion BDX, with around 7.8 to 7.9 billion currently in circulation. Major trackers classify the maximum supply as effectively uncapped. Beldex is an infrastructure layer for private transactions and decentralized privacy services including a VPN, browser, and messaging application.
