Webull launches crypto trading in Canada after securing regulatory approval
The zero-commission brokerage adds Bitcoin, Ethereum, and four other digital assets to its Canadian platform following CIRO authorization.
Webull is bringing its crypto trading ambitions north of the border. The online brokerage launched cryptocurrency trading services in Canada on June 30, 2026, roughly two weeks after its dedicated crypto entity, Webull Canada Crypto Limited, received approval from the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) on June 17.
The platform will support trading in six digital assets at launch: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, Cardano (ADA), and Litecoin (LTC). Trading is available around the clock, and there are no commission fees.
What Webull is actually offering
The crypto trading service integrates directly with existing Webull Canada accounts, meaning users who already trade equities and options on the platform can add digital assets without opening a separate account.
The initial rollout starts with beta access for select clients, with a broader launch expected in the following weeks. CEO Michael Constantino framed the move as filling a gap in the Canadian market.
“This service will provide a much-needed regulated and credible avenue for investing in digital assets.”
One important caveat for Canadian investors: the crypto trading services are operated through a dedicated entity and are not covered by the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF). However, eligible cash sitting in accounts may still qualify for CIPF protection under certain conditions.
Webull’s broader Canadian expansion
The crypto launch is the latest in what has been an aggressive 2026 for Webull Canada. The company first entered the Canadian market with equities trading back in January 2024. Just one day before receiving its crypto regulatory approval, on June 16, 2026, Webull Canada introduced zero-commission trading and extended access to US equities. In April 2026, it had already rolled out commission-free equity trading.
