Ark Invest is shopping for Circle stock again. The firm picked up 35,403 shares of Circle Internet Group, worth $2.9 million, through its ARKW exchange-traded fund.

The purchase adds to a position Ark has been building in the USDC stablecoin issuer since the company went public.

What Ark bought, and how it fits the pattern

Ark made multiple Circle buys throughout 2026. Those included a $5.5M purchase in May and a $17.3M purchase in August.

In a separate transaction, Ark bought 65,615 Circle shares valued at approximately $5.2 million. That buy came after Circle stock fell 7.1% in a single session, pushing shares down to around $79.84.

After that separate purchase, Circle made up about 4.3% of ARKW’s total holdings. The position was worth roughly $67.8 million.

Circle shares, which trade on the NYSE under the ticker CRCL, have recently changed hands in the $80 to $82 range.

Trading Bitcoin exposure for a stablecoin company

Ark’s Circle buying has not happened in isolation. Around the time of the 65,615-share purchase, the firm also trimmed roughly $15.9 million from its ARKB Bitcoin ETF.

That reduction came as Bitcoin struggled to hold the $80,000 level.

Stablecoins are digital tokens pegged to a traditional currency. Traders use them to move money between exchanges, park funds without exiting crypto entirely, and settle payments quickly. Circle’s business benefits when more USDC circulates, regardless of whether Bitcoin is up or down that week.

Background: Circle’s run as a public company

Circle Internet Group went public on June 5, 2025.

The company has reported strong growth in USDC circulation.

Circle has also been working toward a national trust bank charter. If it secures one, the charter could strengthen the company’s credibility and support its operations down the road.

What this means for investors

For investors watching institutional flows, the pattern matters more than any single trade. A string of purchases across May, August and beyond tells you Ark is treating Circle as a core holding, not a quick flip.

There are real risks in the mix. Circle’s stock has shown sharp single-day moves, including the 7.1% drop that preceded one of Ark’s buys.

Key things to watch include USDC circulation figures, progress on Circle’s trust bank charter, and whether Ark continues adding on pullbacks. Bitcoin’s ability to reclaim and hold $80,000 could also shape how Ark splits its money between direct crypto exposure and crypto-linked equities.
