Genoa CFC is finalizing a permanent transfer for Tommaso Baldanzi from AS Roma. The deal, valued at roughly €9.5 million to €10 million, converts what started as a January 2026 loan into a long-term commitment for the 23-year-old attacking midfielder.
From Empoli to Roma to Genoa: Baldanzi’s winding path
Baldanzi arrived at AS Roma from Empoli in February 2024, signing a contract that ran through June 2028.
Over his time in the capital, Baldanzi accumulated 54 appearances but managed just 2 goals.
By January 23, 2026, Roma had loaned Baldanzi to Genoa with an option to buy. During his loan spell, Baldanzi made 8 appearances for Genoa. Enough, apparently, for the Ligurian club to commit to a permanent deal.
The numbers behind the deal
The transfer fee of €9.5-10 million sits comfortably within the range of Baldanzi’s estimated market value, which various assessments place between €8.5 million and €11.6 million.
