About Magic Eden
Magic Eden is a Solana-based NFT marketplace for buying, selling, and discovering digital collectibles. Jack Lu, Sidney Zhang, Zhuoxun Yin, and Zhuojie Zhou founded the platform in September 2021. The ME token launched on December 10, 2024, through an airdrop and token generation event. ME is an SPL token on the Solana blockchain, not a token on a separate standalone network. The platform has expanded to support cross-chain NFT trading and user incentives tied to marketplace participation. ME is the native token, used for governance, ecosystem incentives, and voting on platform decisions. Its total supply is capped at 1 billion ME, distributed over a multi-year schedule with no uncapped issuance. Magic Eden is primarily a marketplace product, and the ME token ties user and community participation to its NFT ecosystem.
