Luchov achieves fifth-best map rating in Major history
The 9z rifler posted a 2.68 map rating during PGL Astana 2026, etching his name alongside the most dominant individual performances in Counter-Strike Major history
Luciano “luchov” Herrera just put together one of the most statistically dominant single-map performances in the entire history of Counter-Strike Majors. The 25-year-old Argentine rifler recorded a 2.68 map rating during a match at PGL Astana 2026, slotting him into fifth place on the all-time list tracked by HLTV.org.
For context, HLTV ratings are the gold standard for measuring individual performance in competitive Counter-Strike. A rating of 1.00 is average. Anything above 1.30 is considered elite for a single map. Luchov nearly tripled that benchmark.
The numbers behind the performance
The rating came during 9z’s match against PARIVISION, which luchov’s squad won convincingly at 13-6.
Luchov’s CT half was, to put it mildly, absurd. He posted a 3.73 rating on the defensive side alone. That half included two aces, meaning he single-handedly eliminated all five opponents in two separate rounds.
Who is luchov?
Luchov plays as a rifler for 9z, a South American organization. Before joining 9z, he competed for BESTIA, another South American squad.
During the IEM Cologne Major 2026, which ran from June 2 through June 21, luchov earned recognition as an Event Valuable Player. That designation goes to players who maintain consistently high-impact performances across an entire tournament, not just a single map.
