OpenAI’s ChatGPT Work can now complete tasks on login-gated sites

Users enter credentials or security codes through a surfaced login screen, while sessions may remain active for later tasks.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT Work can now take over tasks on websites that require users to sign in, according to release notes dated Aug. 25.

When authentication is required, ChatGPT surfaces the site’s login screen so users can enter their credentials or a security code. After sign-in, the agent can continue working while the user steps away.

OpenAI says the model cannot see users’ usernames or passwords, which are not stored or used for training. The browser also supports password managers during the login step.

However, the signed-in session may remain active for future tasks, meaning users may not need to authenticate again on the same site. OpenAI says sessions can be cleared individually for each site through Settings > Cloud browser.

The feature is available in ChatGPT Work’s browser on the web and mobile, according to the release notes.
