Payoneer survey: 90% of scaled stablecoin users say benefits justify the effort
A survey of 265 US finance leaders suggests stablecoins are moving from pilot projects into corporate plumbing
Large US companies that have moved past the testing phase with stablecoins mostly say the effort paid off. According to Payoneer’s new “Stablecoin Steps Up” enterprise report, 90% of businesses using stablecoins at meaningful volumes say the benefits outweigh the challenges.
Payoneer released the report on October 19, 2026, during Money20/20 in Las Vegas.
What the survey found
Payoneer surveyed 265 senior finance leaders. Every respondent works at a US enterprise generating at least $100 million in annual revenue.
Among those enterprises, 69% are actively using stablecoins in live operations. A smaller group, 41%, report using them at a meaningful scale.
Of the companies running stablecoins at real volume, 90% said the benefits justify the work required to implement them, and the report puts the share answering affirmatively at 55%.
Companies still in the pilot stage were more cautious. Among pilots, 73% agreed that the benefits justify the effort, though Payoneer notes they expressed less confidence.
Why companies are using them
Respondents ranked the practical benefits clearly.
Faster settlement topped the list, cited by 50% of respondents.

Better access to markets and currencies came next, cited by 41%.
Improved recipient payment experience rounded out the top three at 40%.
According to the report, 92% of respondents prioritize treasury and multi-currency balances either now or in the near future.
The customer-facing shift
Currently, 33% of respondents offer stablecoin capabilities to their own customers.
Half of respondents, 50%, plan to offer those capabilities within three years.
82% of respondents expect stablecoins to become integral to their financial systems within the next three years.
The friction points
Respondents flagged several challenges that still slow adoption: integration with existing systems, maintaining regulatory compliance, and accountability from providers.
What this means
The most useful signal in the report is the split between pilots and scaled users. The 73% to 90% jump suggests the value of stablecoins becomes clearer with experience, not less clear.
Payoneer has an obvious interest in this story, since it sells cross-border payment services and published the survey. Readers should weigh the findings with that context in mind, while noting the sample focuses on a specific and influential group: US companies with at least $100 million in revenue.
If 92% of these enterprises follow through on prioritizing treasury and multi-currency balances, corporate holdings of stablecoins could grow. The survey captures intentions and expectations, not outcomes.
