US stocks edge lower as investors await Nvidia earnings
The S&P 500 slipped and the Nasdaq 100 fell 0.2% as markets absorbed fresh inflation data.
US stocks drifted lower Wednesday as investors assessed the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge and waited for Nvidia’s quarterly earnings, Bloomberg reported.
The S&P 500 was slightly negative at 12:08 p.m. in New York, pulling back from Tuesday’s gains. The technology-heavy Nasdaq 100 fell 0.2%.
The market moves came after data showed core personal-consumption expenditures prices rose 0.2%, in line with expectations. Investors were also looking to Nvidia’s results for signals about the strength of the artificial-intelligence trade.
