Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss have contributed a combined total of approximately $26 million this election cycle, mostly to MAGA Inc., the super PAC backing Donald Trump. That figure comes from a Reuters analysis of Federal Election Commission filings.

Each twin gave nearly $13 million on his own. That places the Gemini co-founders among the largest crypto-executive donors Reuters examined.

Where the money went

Reuters found that a group of ultra-wealthy executives who built fortunes in and around crypto have spent more than $56 million so far during the current cycle. Their money has flowed to crypto-friendly candidates and to crypto-focused super PACs.

According to federal filings cited by Reuters, crypto’s total political blitz this cycle stands at $175 million.

The Bitcoin paper trail

The latest figures cap a run of large crypto-denominated donations. Earlier, each twin gave roughly $1 million in Bitcoin to Trump’s 2024 campaign.

In August 2025, the twins sent approximately $21 million in Bitcoin, around 188 BTC, to the Digital Freedom Fund. DFF is a Republican-aligned PAC that backs pro-crypto candidates and legislative efforts, and the research identifies a $21.3 million donation to it from the Winklevoss Capital Fund.

Then, in June 2026, a Bitcoin donation of more than $10 million went to MAGA Inc. That gift landed weeks after CFTC actions connected to a prior Gemini settlement.

DFF has not been shy about how it spends. The PAC has campaigned against Democratic candidates and in support of Republicans, including Ken Paxton in Texas.

From bipartisan to partisan

This was not always the Winklevoss playbook. The twins previously supported bipartisan efforts, including the Fairshake PAC, the industry’s big-tent political vehicle. The twins have since shifted toward a much tighter alignment with Trump and Republican causes.
