1inch discontinues crypto debit card and urges users to withdraw funds by December 18

The DeFi platform has stopped accepting new card applications as it winds down the service, although existing accounts remain accessible.

Decentralized exchange aggregator 1inch is discontinuing its crypto debit card service, urging existing customers to withdraw or spend their remaining balances by December 18, 2026.

According to an update published on its official help center, the 1inch Card program has stopped accepting new registrations, although existing cards and accounts remain accessible as the service winds down.

The company advised users to move their funds as soon as possible, warning that the exact timeline for card functionality and account closures will be determined by its card provider and issuer.

While December 18 is the recommended deadline, 1inch clarified that it cannot guarantee cards will remain operational until that date.

1inch winds down Mastercard crypto card launched in 2024

The decision comes roughly two and a half years after 1inch introduced its crypto debit card in April 2024 through a partnership with Mastercard and Crypto Life, a service associated with Baanx.

The card allowed users to spend cryptocurrencies through automatic conversion into fiat currency, supporting online purchases, physical stores and ATM withdrawals wherever Mastercard was accepted.

It also offered integration with Apple Pay and Google Pay, providing users with a way to make everyday purchases using their digital assets.

Under the closure process, Crypto Life will handle account closures, identity verification requests and card status inquiries. The card’s electronic money issuer is Monavate, according to 1inch’s updated documentation.

Users who fail to withdraw their balances before their accounts close may still redeem remaining funds for up to six years under the issuer’s published terms.

1inch has not disclosed the reason behind the discontinuation or announced a replacement card service.
