Atlético Madrid have made a formal enquiry to sign Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray, with a reported bid of €120 million put on the table. Galatasaray said no.

The Turkish club rejected the offer on June 11, 2026. Osimhen, 27, moved to Galatasaray from Napoli in July 2025 for €75 million, and his stock has only risen since.

Atlético aren’t the only club circling. Manchester United and Chelsea have also been tracking Osimhen. Atlético appear to be positioned as the leading candidate, at least according to reports emerging in early to mid-June 2026.

Galatasaray have reportedly set their valuation for Osimhen at around €150 million in certain contexts. That’s a €30 million gap between what Atlético offered and what Galatasaray wants.

The Álvarez domino effect

Atlético’s pursuit of Osimhen is reportedly contingent on the potential departure of Julián Álvarez, their current forward.

Atlético have also been reshaping their attack following the exit of Antoine Griezmann. Replacing a player of Griezmann’s caliber requires someone who can immediately produce at the highest level, and Osimhen fits that profile.

What this means for the transfer market

Galatasaray paid €75 million for Osimhen and are now holding out for significantly more, potentially around €150 million. That €75 million-to-€150 million trajectory would represent a 100% markup in a single season.

The key variable to watch is the Álvarez situation. If a buyer materializes for the Argentine forward at a price Atlético find acceptable, expect the Spanish club to come back with an improved offer for Osimhen. If Álvarez stays put, Atlético may need to step aside entirely, leaving the door open for Manchester United and Chelsea.
