Blockchain.com gains Cayman approval for custody and exchange services

The company is strengthening its local presence through a partnership with TechCayman.

Crypto infrastructure firm Blockchain.com has received a full Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, upgrading its status from conditional approval to long-term regulatory authorization in one of the world’s major financial hubs.

Through its Cayman Islands subsidiary, the company can now offer virtual asset custody, fiat and crypto exchange services, and staking products for institutional and retail users.

The approval adds to Blockchain.com’s recent regulatory achievements, including MiCA authorization in Europe and FCA registration in the UK, as it expands its compliance-focused global operations.

The company is also investing in the Cayman Islands market through a partnership with TechCayman, which will help establish its local presence and support future growth in the region.

The milestone comes as Blockchain.com is preparing for a possible US stock market debut after its parent company, Blockchain.com Group Holdings, confidentially submitted an S-1 registration draft to the SEC.
