The bank argues the AI connectivity chipmaker's recent pullback is an opening, setting one of Wall Street's most bullish targets on the stock

BMO Capital Markets has started covering Astera Labs with an outperform rating and a $375 price target. That target implies 68% upside from Wednesday’s close.

The timing is notable. Astera shares were recently caught in a broad rotation out of semiconductor stocks, and BMO is effectively telling clients the sell-off went too far.

What BMO is betting on

BMO analyst Harsh Kumar built the call around Astera’s role in AI networking. His thesis is that AI and cloud infrastructure keep getting more complex, and that complexity drives demand for better ways to move data between chips.

The company has four main product lines: Aries, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio. Together they target high-speed connectivity for AI systems, the plumbing that keeps processors fed with data instead of sitting idle.

An outperform rating means BMO expects the stock to beat the broader market or its peer group. A $375 target from a recent close of $223 is not a cautious nudge. It is a firm vote of confidence.

The numbers behind the optimism

BMO’s initiation landed shortly after Astera posted its third-quarter 2026 results. The company reported record revenue of $584.9 million.

That figure was up 154% year over year and 49% from the prior quarter. Non-GAAP earnings per share came in at $1.32.

The standout was Scorpio, Astera’s fabric-switch family. It became the company’s largest revenue contributor and has reached an annualized run-rate of more than $1 billion.

Guidance points to more growth. Astera expects fourth-quarter 2026 revenue between $730 million and $750 million, which would mean roughly 27% sequential growth.

Astera also keeps refreshing its lineup. In October 2026 it launched Aries 7, a PCIe 7 signal conditioning solution.

PCIe is the standard interface computer components use to exchange data. Signal conditioning keeps that data clean as speeds climb and electrical signals degrade over distance, which matters more with every new generation of the standard.

How BMO stacks up against the rest of the Street

Wall Street’s consensus on Astera sits at Moderate Buy. Average price targets fall between $320 and $370.

BMO’s $375 lands above that range. That places the bank among the most bullish voices on the name right now.

Background: a young company with a fast trajectory

Astera Labs was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in San Jose, California. It employs around 756 people.

The company went public in March 2024 and trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker ALAB. In a little over two and a half years as a public company, it has gone from IPO newcomer to a name posting quarterly revenue north of half a billion dollars.

What this means for investors

The gap between a $223 share price and a $375 target is where the opportunity and the risk both live. If Astera hits or beats its fourth-quarter range of $730 million to $750 million, the bull case gets easier to argue, and more analysts could move their targets toward BMO’s.

Concentration is another factor to watch. With Scorpio now the largest revenue driver, the stock’s near-term story leans heavily on one product family continuing to ramp.
