Cloudflare launches Kitesurf web browser built for AI agents

The cloud hosted browser is designed to let AI agents navigate websites, fill out forms and complete web based tasks.

Cloudflare has launched Kitesurf, a cloud hosted web browser designed specifically for AI agents as developers increasingly build systems capable of navigating and interacting with websites autonomously.

Unlike traditional browsers built around visual interfaces for humans, Kitesurf is designed around the requirements of AI agents, including context management, token costs, performance, scalability and security risks such as prompt injection.

The browser allows developers to build agents that can navigate websites, fill out forms and complete other browser based tasks without developing their own browser infrastructure.

Cloudflare said Kitesurf was developed in 12 weeks and runs entirely on its Workers serverless platform. It is currently available for free in beta through Browser Run.

The company said Kitesurf uses less CPU and memory than Chromium for common agent tasks including screenshots and HTML extraction.

Kitesurf incorporates technologies including the Blitz rendering engine, Firefox’s Stylo CSS parser and the Boa JavaScript engine. Cloudflare said the browser already passes more than 215,000 web platform tests, with additional compatibility being added each week.
