Coinbase has teamed up with Ripple to bring RLUSD, Ripple’s flagship stablecoin, to its retail and institutional platforms, the companies said Wednesday.

Beginning October 28, customers can trade and manage RLUSD through Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Exchange and the Coinbase Retail app, with 1:1 conversion available from US dollars and other supported USD-denominated stablecoins. Coinbase Global Exchange support, including the use of RLUSD as collateral, will be introduced later.

The rollout includes deposits and withdrawals across the XRP Ledger, Base and Ethereum, giving users options to move the stablecoin across different blockchain networks, according to the announcement. Ripple will provide liquidity on Base to support RLUSD’s expansion.

The companies said the partnership would make the stablecoin more accessible for institutional execution, settlement and custody, while extending its use across multiple financial services.

RLUSD, which launched in December 2024, has grown to approximately $2.6 billion in market capitalization, CoinGecko data shows. Its adoption spans crypto exchanges, payment services, institutional markets and onchain finance.
