Futardio attracts $43M in commitments, aids MetaDAO sourcing

The permissionless Solana launchpad has drawn massive interest but only two of 54 projects actually hit their funding targets, creating a natural filter for MetaDAO's curation pipeline.

A new permissionless token launchpad on Solana called Futardio has pulled in roughly $43 million in total commitments since launching on March 3, 2026. The catch: almost all of that money piled into just a couple of projects, leaving the vast majority of founders staring at mostly empty war chests.

Built by the MetaDAO team, Futardio appears designed to function as a massive funnel, letting the market itself decide which early-stage projects deserve serious capital, then feeding the winners into MetaDAO’s governance and treasury management system.

How Futardio works

Founders pay a deployment fee of 0.5 SOL to create a fundraising campaign on the platform. They set a USDC raise target, typically between $50,000 and $1 million, and a timeline that can range from one hour to seven days.

If a project doesn’t hit its target, backers get a full refund.

The numbers tell a stark story

As of mid-March 2026, 54 projects had launched through Futardio. Only two managed to meet their fundraising goals. Many raised less than 5% of their desired amounts.

The standout success was Futardio Cult, a memecoin that collected $11.4 million in commitments from 725 unique backers. It oversubscribed its $50,000 target by 22,800%, within 24 hours of going live.

Strip out Futardio Cult’s haul and the remaining 53 projects split roughly $31.5 million in commitments among themselves. For MetaDAO itself, the platform generated approximately $8,700 in revenue from its initial batch of projects.

A sourcing engine disguised as a launchpad

MetaDAO operates a governance system built on futarchy, a decision-making framework that uses prediction markets to evaluate proposals. Instead of token holders simply voting yes or no, they effectively bet on whether a decision will increase the value of the organization’s token.

MetaDAO has already facilitated significantly larger curated raises. One project called Umbra garnered approximately $155 million through MetaDAO’s system. Compared to those numbers, Futardio operates at a different scale entirely, but it serves a complementary function as a deal-sourcing mechanism that lets the crowd do the initial screening.
