Goldman Sachs asset management launches AlphaAI platform to supercharge investment returns

Goldman Sachs Asset Management launched AlphaAI, a new platform focused on using artificial intelligence to drive returns across public and private markets.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management has officially unveiled AlphaAI, an artificial intelligence investing platform designed to juice returns across the firm’s public and private market portfolios. The launch, detailed in an internal memo from global head of asset management Marc Nachmann, signals that one of Wall Street’s most influential players is no longer treating AI as a side project.

AlphaAI went live on July 30, 2026, according to the memo reported by Reuters. The platform is positioned as what Goldman calls a “force multiplier” for investment returns.

Lou D’Ambrosio has been named chairman of Artificial Intelligence for Asset Management, a title that didn’t exist until now. D’Ambrosio previously founded and led the firm’s Value Accelerator, a unit Goldman established back in 2018 to drive operational improvements across portfolio companies.

With D’Ambrosio shifting focus to AlphaAI, Darius Adamczyk steps in as global leader of the Value Accelerator.

The platform is designed to work across both public and private markets. Most AI tools in finance have been deployed in public equities, where data is abundant and structured. Extending those capabilities into private markets, where data is messier and deal flow depends on relationships, is a materially harder problem.

Investment in AI companies is projected to exceed $500 billion in 2026. Goldman isn’t the first major financial institution to make AI-forward moves, but the creation of a named platform with dedicated C-suite leadership is a step beyond what most competitors have announced publicly. BlackRock has been integrating AI into its Aladdin risk management system for years. JPMorgan has deployed large language models for research and trading.
