The Guardiola exit and a new chapter
Pep Guardiola, the architect of Manchester City’s decade-long dominance, has departed. Alfie Haaland described the transition as a “new chapter” for the club, expressing confidence in Enzo Maresca’s ability as the incoming manager to build a strong relationship with Erling.
Erling Haaland joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022. Since arriving, he has shattered multiple goalscoring records for the club. His long-term contract keeps him locked in, and by all public accounts, he has no immediate plans to leave.
Transfer rumors as market noise
Speculation has linked Erling to both Real Madrid and PSG. Alfie Haaland and Erling’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, have both pushed back firmly against those reports.
The transfer rumors are “entertaining but none of it is true,” according to Pimenta’s dismissal of the speculation.
Back in March 2024, Erling himself noted he was “really happy” at City while simultaneously acknowledging the unpredictability of future moves.
