Blockchain.com launches 24/7 API trading for institutional crypto clients

The new service provides direct access to crypto liquidity with automated execution, flexible settlement and trading without prefunding for eligible clients.

Blockchain.com launched an institutional API trading service on Thursday, giving clients 24/7 automated access to its crypto liquidity through a single interface.

The service allows institutions to trade major cryptocurrencies, altcoins and stablecoins directly with Blockchain.com, using executable quotes with all costs included rather than routing orders across multiple trading venues.

Eligible clients can execute trades without prefunding their accounts and select settlement schedules that match their operational requirements. The API also integrates with existing trading systems.

The launch expands Blockchain.com’s Institutional Prime Brokerage business, which serves more than 1,500 institutional clients and offers OTC spot and derivatives trading, custody, staking and yield products.

The new service operates alongside the company’s existing OTC voice and chat trading desk, allowing clients to combine automated execution with direct trader support.

Marc Sischka, global head of OTC trading at Blockchain.com, said institutional demand for direct liquidity access, transparent pricing and efficient execution continues to increase as participation in digital assets becomes more sophisticated.

The company said the service is designed for hedge funds, family offices, corporations and other institutional investors seeking automated crypto trading through a single counterparty.

Institutions can request access to the service and its documentation through Blockchain.com’s API Trading portal.
