About Biconomy
Biconomy is a multi-chain, non-custodial relayer protocol that provides infrastructure for Web3 decentralized applications to handle gasless transactions, meta-transactions, and cross-chain bridging. Ahmed Al-Balaghi, Aniket Jindal, and Sachin Tomar founded the project in 2019. Its core design relies on a relayer network using meta-transactions and trusted forwarder contracts on EVM-compatible chains, combined with a staking and slashing model to secure execution commitments. Node operators and delegators stake BICO to participate in network security and earn rewards. The native token, BICO, is an ERC-20 utility and governance token used to pay protocol and transaction fees, incentivize node operators, and vote on on-chain governance decisions. BICO has a fixed maximum supply of one billion tokens, with staking rewards and fee requirements designed to tie token demand to protocol usage. Biconomy's primary purpose is to simplify the Web3 user experience by allowing dApps to abstract away gas payments and remove the need for users to hold native gas tokens.
