About Bitget Token
Bitget Token (BGB) is the native utility token of the Bitget ecosystem, used across the Bitget centralized exchange and Bitget Wallet. Bitget created it and launched it on July 26, 2021. BGB is an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain and does not operate on its own independent network or consensus mechanism. Holders use BGB for trading fee discounts, access to Launchpad and Launchpool offerings, voting on token listings, and other privileges within Bitget services. It functions as a platform utility token for Bitget-related trading and wallet activity, not as a general-purpose payment currency. The initial supply was capped at two billion BGB. A burn event documented in a 2024 whitepaper update reduced this to 1.2 billion, and a continuing burn program brought the circulating supply down to around 910.9 million as of 2026.
